Group Therapy
Children react differently to the news of divorce. It is common for them to feel the
divorce is their fault and develop fears of abandonment. This can be reflected in their
behavior, physical complaints, and problems at school.

Many children feel vulerable and overwhelmed by conflicting emotions. They may
feel anxious about the theraputic process and be reluctant to talk about the divorce.
This group uses a range of innovative activities that are creative and play-based to
engage children and help them safely express their thoughts and feelings.

Children will learn how to accept reality of the divorce, resolve anger and self-blame,
disengage from parental conflict, and develop realistic expectations regarding
relationships.

This is a small group setting with a maximum of 8 participants. The group meets for
60 minutes one time a week for 10 weeks. In order to receive the maximum benefit
from this group you need to attend all 10 sessions. Designed for children between
the ages of 6 - 12 years of age.
