Cooperative parenting significantly determines how children adjust to divorce. Ongoing parental conflict is the single most common cause of poor adjustment in children following a divorce. Parents will learn how to reduce conflict and develop healthy co-parenting skills. Ideally both parents would participate, however there is great benefit if only one parent attends. The cooperative parenting and divorce group is a video-based, educational program designed to assist divorcing or divorced parents in reducing parental conflict and the risk factors that influence the child's post-divorce adjustment. The program addresses the relationship between separate households created as a result of divorce. It is designed to improve the quality of the parental relationship. This group is suited for those parents exhibiting minimal to moderate conflict. This is a small group setting with a maximum of 10 participants. The group meets for 2 hours one time a week for 8 weeks. In order to receive the maximum benefit from this group you need to attend all 8 sessions. June 13 to August 15 (not meeting July 4 and July 11) Saturday afternoons at 1:00 - 3:00PM $480 for group for each participant $25 fee for materials Interview required for each participant before group begins ($60) Payment plans available MasterCard & Visa accepted To register: Call (919) 787-5897 or email: Donna@DonnaMooreTherapy.com |
